Public Interest Lawyers’ resident rock band, The Redactions, are headlining Matrix Chambers’ 10th Anniversary Party at Fabric on 13 May 2010. Over 1,000 people are expected to pack the iconic “super club” for the event.
The Redactions started life in October 2009 when a group of human rights lawyers at PIL decided to form a band. Their debut performance later that month at a private party, and PIL’s close working relationship with Matrix, led to a request for the group to perform on the main stage at the much-hyped event.
Since then, The Redactions have spent hours in Birmingham’s rehearsal studios perfecting their act. Bass player Fionn Shiner (17) is eagerly anticipating the gig:
“The chance to play in front of such a big audience will be an amazing experience. Fabric is quite a place for our first real gig, but I think we can pull it off.”
The Redactions are:
Jim Duffy, Lead Vocals and Acoustic Guitar
Sam Jacobs, Vocals, Lead Guitar and Mandolin
Dan Carey, Keyboard and Harmonica
Fionn Shiner, Bass
Tessa Gregory, Tambourine
Aonghus Kelly, Bodhrán
Richard Borrett, Drums
